M is for Metro. M is for Mum and Granddad Mack. M is for… monsters? But there’s no such thing as mythical creatures, not here, is there?
Em lives near the River Wear. She is ten (and three quarters), and she isn’t scared of made-up stories, okay? There’s enough to worry about right here. But one night, the world feels different. And Em finds something magic to believe in – something magnificent that will change her mind forever.
Full of melody and music, Here Be Dragons is for everyone up for mighty adventure. Join multi-talented maestros [performers here? All confirmed?] on a journey across the marvellous North East like you’ve never seen it before, and into the miraculous unknown.
Directed by Unfolding Theatre’s Annie Rigby and written by Lindsay Rodden, Here Be Dragons is for everyone who’s ever wanted to fly away. Sometimes we all need a little bit of magic.
Aimed at children aged 6-11 but younger siblings welcome.
Unfolding Theatre makes big-hearted theatre that delights in bringing people together. Community-based creative processes engage surprising combinations of people to generate warm, distinctive theatre, rich in ideas.
Their award-winning productions tour across the UK. Productions include Hold On Let Go, Multiverse Arcade, Putting The Band Back Together, Lands of Glass, Best in the World and Building Palaces.
Unfolding Theatre was founded in 2008 in Newcastle upon Tyne by Artistic Director, Annie Rigby. Since then, they’ve toured to audiences across the UK and collaborated with top creative thinkers, including young people, artists and community groups.
