Be Moved!

Experienced Dance artist and expert in Early years movement Skye Reynolds is leading a 5-week programme of workshops in Bedlington Station Primary School, Cambois Primary School and our very own creative playgroup Northern Lights. Working with Skye, local children will explore their creativity and learn how movement can be so much more than simply learning a dance routine; but support emotional literacy, resilience and social skills.

Outreach - The Tute Cambois

Write Now!

Local author Hilary Elder is working with Bedlington Academy students in a new extra-curricular creative writing group. Together they have been exploring how creative writing can help them navigate teenage years using gothic fiction as a style to experiment with. The group will create a book of tier stories, which will be distributed at Hexed! performance event.

Twinkle Arti The Tute Cambois

Twinkle Arti

Playwright and children’s author Danielle Slade brings her award-winning book Twinkle Arti to life in a magical ‘show in a suitcase’. Created in collaboration with The Tute and developed as part of a Newcastle University project exploring new ways to support children affected by parental mental health and substance misuse, this part-reading, part-puppet show tells the uplifting story of a star who’s lost his shine. With puppetry by Aileen Kelly and direction by Ruth Mary Johnson, the show combines storytelling and visual theatre to gently explore important emotional themes, offering both support and inspiration to young audiences. Touring five local schools, it brings vital messages directly to those who need them most.
