STRONGER SHORES AND THE TUTE WITH LINDA FRANCE, MATTHEW JARRATT AND LAURIE POWELL

SATURDAY 1 & SUNDAY 2 NOVEMBER 10AM-4PM – NO NEED TO BOOK

COAST-INSPIRED EXHIBITION AT THE TUTE

Over the past six months, The Tute has been proud to collaborate with Stronger Shores, an environmental innovation project dedicated to raising awareness of the vital role our coastlines play in supporting marine ecosystems and protecting communities.

Inspired by these themes, our creative groups responded artistically. The Creative Writing Group worked with acclaimed poet Linda France, who led a series of poetry workshops. The Dance Group produced a brand-new film under the direction of Esther Huss, with Katja Roberts, while the Art Group created original works for the exhibition. Stronger Shores also partnered with Cambois Primary SchoolLinda France and artist Laurie Powell to co-create new artwork – bringing young, vital voices into this celebration of our coast.

All of these pieces will be showcased at The Tute in a weekend-long exhibition. You’re warmly invited to drop in at any time and experience our coastline as you’ve never seen it before, through the lens of art, science, and community.

The Stronger Shores Exhibition is curated by Matthew Jarratt and is funded by Stronger Shores. Stronger Shores is funded by Defra as part of the £200 million Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme which is managed by the Environment Agency to develop and test new approaches to help communities become more resilient to the effects of flooding and climate change.
