Cambois Creates

Cambois Creates is a new, two-year partnership between The Tute and performing arts company, November Club

Our aim is to work together with the local community here in Cambois, North Blyth and East/West Sleekburn to create something really special and memorable in the area.

What that is and what it looks like is yet to be determined.

Keep check of our News Flash page for regular updates on upcoming events…..

Here at The Tute we firmly believe that community projects can change lives. We endeavour to make all our activities free to anybody who’d like to participate in them because we don’t want any barriers to exist.

However we are aware some people would like to support us and give a contribution towards our rent and bills. So if you’d like to donate to us, please click the paypal button below! Thanks in advance!

The Cambois Tales

We launched the Cambois Tales at the Gala 2022 – our new collection of short stories written by our very talented writers group!

Six new pieces of writing from local authors approach the theme of Cambois with joy and enthusiasm. If you’re from Cambois, you live in Cambois, you’ve driven through Cambois or you’ve never even heard of Cambois, there’s something for everyone!

Parent and Children PlayGroup

Northern Lights parent and children play group has been running since the ease of lockdown 2021, we meet every Wednesday afternoon 3-4 to play, chat and build friendships in the local community. We’re a really friendly group with different aged children who explore play, creativity, art and socialising in a relaxed environment. Children and their adults are welcome ages 0-5.

You’re never too young to be creative!

Email us if you’d like to join, typically parents join a whatsapp group where they can be kept up to date with what’s going on. This is free to attend and made possible the National Lottery’s Community Fund and Prime.

Writing Group

We hold fortnightly writing groups. It’s a supportive little group of writers led by professional playwright Alex Oates. We start with an exercise and then discuss a piece of writing advice before looking at the work we’re each working on.

If you’ve ever thought about writing creatively as a hobby and would love a chance to be encouraged to express yourself in this way then please come along.

Dance Group

We run weekly dance workshops for the community. Experienced dance artist Esther Huss facilitates this fun session drawing on her expertise in contemporary dance and improvisation. Improve your mobility, self expression and wellbeing in a supportive social environment , no previous experience is required.

We’re over the moon with the uptake of these workshops and loving seeing the unique experience and qualities each participant is bringing to this one-of-a-kind group.
